290 feet of lakeshore frontage. 40 feet of undisturbed woods on each side provides privacy from neighboring properties.
The majority of the shoreline is rocky with large boulders, typical of Canadian Shield lakes created by glaciers. A small beach (mixture of small rocks and sand) is suitable for wading and pulling up small boats.
Private 40 x 6 foot dock, with light and power for charging your boat batteries. The "L" on the end has a two-person bench seat. Lawn chairs can be used on the dock for additional seating. 5 1/2 ft water depth at end of the dock.
Your boat can be moored at the dock, pulled up on the beach, or placed on the boat lift provided. The lift can accommodate boats up to 3600 lbs and a 105" beam. The lift does not have a canopy.
A vintage 17-foot Alumicraft canoe and paddles are available for your use.
Good walleye bite off the dock thru early June. Perch, too. A few smallmouth bass live under the dock and boat lift all summer, but please leave those for the kids.
Crayfish catching at the dock or shore is a kid's favorite. A small piece of hot dog dangled off the dock does the trick. If you'd like, toss the crayfish in a bucket at the shore for the mink to find overnight. Or just turn them loose.
The Guest Cabin is set back 120 feet from the lake. We mow about 1/2 acre of grass between the lake and the buildings. Tents are welcome, but should not be used to house additional persons beyond the 5-person cabin limit.
The gradual slope to the lake is easy walking for children or seniors. No steps or stairs to access the dock or shore.
A fire pit, picnic table and lawn chairs are available for your use. Seasoned fire wood provided in the wood shed. There are two swings available for the kids (or adults). Both a gas grill and a charcoal grill are available for outdoor use.
Mallard ducks are everywhere, especially if you toss corn (provided) on the ground. Chicks hatch starting mid June thru early July. Our goldeneye nest box is used each year. About 15 chicks hatch in the first half of June. If you're here at the right time, you're welcome to watch the happy occasion on our live "nestcam".
A variety of lawn games are available: ladder ball, croquet, frisbee, etc.
Your hosts, Kathy and Jeff Lovgren, a retired couple, live on the same property in the log home which you may see in some of the pictures. They're available 24-hours a day to help solve any problems that arise. But they promise to stay in the background and not disturb your full use of the entire property.
Should we have a power outage, a standby generator automatically provides backup power to both the main house and the guest cabin.
